A tattoo done well reads from a hand's width away and holds up ten years later.
I work in realism, fine line and micro-realism: three ways of chasing the same thing, detail that holds. Realism is about reading light; fine line is about a steady hand and commitment, because a thin line cannot be corrected; micro-realism is about knowing what to leave out so a small piece still reads.
Every piece starts with a conversation and is designed for one specific part of the body: how it falls, how it moves, how it will age. I would rather take few appointments and no rush than many with a clock running.
Fine line is unforgiving: either it lands the first time, or it doesn't.
